Wear Red on Fridays

I was watching Valley Life t.v. the other day and there were 2 veterans on sharing an awesome concept that they came up with. Every Friday they have the town of Reedley wearing red shirts to show support for our troops. Their mayor even proclaimed every Friday Red Shirt Day. The money that they make from the shirts go towards scholarships in the Reedley area. They also raised over $2000 and sent it to some soldiers in Iraq for some communications equipment so that troops can call home to their families. If you are interested in purchasing a red t-shirt or polo go to: http://reedleyareaveterans.com/Reedley_Area_Veterans.htm
The t-shirts are $10 and polos are $15. Even if you don't want to purchase a shirt they want to encourage everyone to wear red on Fridays until our troops come home!! Picture by royal19.

Library

Yesterday the kids and I went to the library. They had fun picking out books and reading them on the little bean bags. We checked out quite a few and headed home. Once we were home we made bookmarks. We had just bought some stickers so we used those to decorate the bookmarks. They hole punched the top and then picked out a ribbon that they liked. We talked about how to use a bookmark. It is so funny because now anytime we are reading a book they want to put their little bookmark in to mark their spot :) Easy and cheap activity!

Sleeping Angels

The other night I peeked in on Landen and Serenity before I headed to bed. They both looked so sweet and peaceful... I had to take a picture. These are the moments where I sigh with happiness and thank Heavenly Father with blessing me with such an awesome opportunity of being Serenity and Landen's Mommy.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddy's out there! I have been blessed with such an amazing father. He is one of the most humble and hard working human beings I know. He is someone I have always and still look up to. He is easily one of the people that I respect the most and hope I would hate to ever disappoint him because his opinion of me means the world. Happy Father's Day Dad! I love you More, Mostest!!!

Summer Fun

Since the kiddos and I have all summer to hang out I have been trying to come up with things we can do for fun! This last week we had "Cooking Class". The kids made chocolate/peanut butter chip cookies. They did everything. We talked about what a recipe was along with a spatula, and measuring cups. It was a lot of fun! Some other things we are going to do this summer are: Money, Zoo using Brown Bear and Polar Bear books by Eric Carle, Word a Day, Art Fun, Bugs, and more.

Crusin'

Doug and I were able to get away for a few days on a cruise to Mexico. We stopped by Disneyland on the way and rode a few rides. I can't believe it, but I actually rode California Screamin' TWICE!! We had a really relaxing time on the cruise. It is always nice to get away with just Dougie!

For Misty...

Ren's Last Day of School

Even though Serenity has a whole other year of pre-school I couldn't help but tear up as she walked out with the rest of her class to start their program. I can't imagine what kind of shape I will be in next year :) She started out pretty good, but then she got a little case of stage fright and spent part of the time in Mrs. Shelton's lap :)

Uncle Danny the MONSTER!!

We were lucky to have Danny, Misty, Izzy, and Chase spend the weekend with us the last weekend in May... Each morning, Uncle Danny would turn into the Sheet Monster and "chase" the kids all around the house. There were high pitched screams and wails all morning long and of course lots of laughing. These are the times the kids will always remember. I left the red eye on this picture on purpose to add to the Monsteriness!! :)

Doug's Kinda Surprise Party

I have never ever ever been able to surprise Doug. Every time I try someone ends up spilling the beans. I only planned the party 1 1/2 weeks in advance so I didn't think that was too long for people to keep it hush. He ended up finding out 2 days before the party. :( Here are some pics from the party! It was nice having so much family come to Fresno and also have our friends in Fresno there too. Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us!!

Happy Birthday Uncle Matt!

My little brother turned 24! Wow! That is crazy! We went to Applebee's to celebrate. Actually, earlier in the week we had went out to Red Robin and I totally told the waitress it was his birthday on the "down-low" and when they came out singing and clapping my brother about died. If anyone knows my brother, you know that he hates attention! Then on his actual bday at Applebee's I told the waitress when we came in (he was already there)... they came and sang to him when I was in the bathroom so when I came out he was still red with embarrassment and was not exactly pleased with me :) It is what a big sister has to do :)

BUSY!!

So much has been going on... My bff had a baby... Doug's kinda surprise bday party, Ren's last day of school, Doug and I went on a cruise!!! I will try to post some each day... :)
