Crazy Cousins
This weekend we were lucky enough to have Izzy, Chase, and Misty come visit. The kidos had soooo much fun together. They were really good all night. Ren and Izzy stayed up until 11:30pm playing and watching the Grinch and Shrek. Izzy, Chase, Ren and Landen had a lot of fun dancing to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse CD. We can't wait to play together again!! We miss yo already.

What is a true friend?
To me a true friend is someone you can count on no matter what. Someone you feel comfortable around just being you. To me it is so hard to make a true friend. It seems like I am able to make lots of "friends/aquaintances", but a true friend is a little more complex. Sometimes I feel that I have made a true friend, but then something happens that makes it obvious that maybe I thought we were closer than we actually were. I know I am being vague, but just needed to vent a little. One thing for sure, I do have a handful of true friends that mean the world to me...you know who you are...they're the ones where it doesn't matter if we haven't talked in awhile we can just pick up where we left off. They are always there when I need them and they know they can call me ANYtime for ANYthing. Love you guys!

A Simple Prayer
So, Dougie is in Vail, Colorado hitting the slopes and shmoozing with doctors for the next 4 days and I am here trying to get this house cleaned. Somehow I think he got the better end of the deal. I am FINALLY almost finished painting our wall in the living room. I had no idea when I started this project that it would take this long, but that is often the case with my "projects". My Daddy, the wonderful man that he is, came down today to help me with some things. Thanks Dad! I have come to the conclusion that we are in some desperate need of a family snow day. Tonight during family prayer, Ren was repeating everything I said (as usual) except this time she added a little extra prayer of her own. After I asked Heavenly Father to help us to be able to get a good night sleep, Ren added, "and that we can go to the snow." It took everything in me to not bust up laughing. (Sigh!) Out of the mouths of babes...my sweet Serenity!

Heart Day
We had a great valentine's day. Serenity and Landen each got a little watering can because they love watering the "planets" as Serenity says. They both were enjoying the warm sunshine. Doug and I got to go out on a date thanks to my parents. What would I do without them?! Doug and I went to eat at PF Changs and had the most delicious Mongolian beef. I can taste it now!!!! Anyways, then we went to a movie, "Because I Said So". It was pretty good...a little predictable. It was just nice to get out with just the two of us. We need to make a point of going on a date at least once a month if not more.

5 years
Well, it has been 5 years ago tonight that Danny, Misty, Doug, and I were spending the night in a MOTEL (and I do emphasize the word MOTEL). Doug was so grouchy. I don't know if it was because he clogged the toilet and had to call the front desk to bring up a plunger or what (ha ha ha!) The next morning he was in a much better mood. On Valentine's day 5 years ago we were sealed in the Oakland Temple by Elder Speed. It was a day I will never forget. I learned how truly important family is. It was a difficult day because I wasn't able to share it with my Mom and Dad, but I know that Heavenly Father wanted me there. The temple brings such peace in my life...something I don't get to experience too often. I definitely need to make more of an effort to attend more often.

Primary Activity
Today was Serenity's first Primary activity. It was a lot of fun. We made valentines and then walked to an assisted living home where we sang songs and handed out the valentines. When we came back we ate pizza and cookies. The kids really enjoyed everything. Ren loves playing with Hannah and Landen loved sweeping.

Unfolding Hearts
I have been inspired today. I am always trying to figure out what I can do to give to our community or help those who are in need. Sometimes it is hard to actually physically get out there and get involved with two little ones, but today I hope I found a way to reach out. There is a non-profit organization that is called Unfolding Hearts that is based in Fresno. They go into Children's Hospital in Madera and teach children how to scrapbook and put autobiographies using pictures together. I have been a supporter of this organization from the moment I knew about them. Anyways, my friend, who is a Creative Memories consultant, has been wanting me to have a crop/party for over a year, but I keep pushing it off because (1) I have more than enough scrapbook stuff and (2) I HATE inviting friends over to buy things so I can get free stuff. So I came up with an idea that I hope works. I want to have a crop/party and invite lots of friends and whatever I earn in free stuff will be donated to Unfolding Hearts and then if others want to dontate they can too. What do you think? I emailed the President of Unfolding Hearts and will be talking with my friend with Creative Memories tonight. I will keep you updated on the progress of this inspired idea!

Turbo Tax Troubles
This is my time to vent about my torubles with Turbo Tax. First of all I am only able to do our taxes when the kidos are snuggled in bed which doesn't leave me a lot of time if I want to get my "sanity sleep". Anyways, last night it said I had no errors so I printed it up, but then it had us sending our state taxes electronically and now it shows two errors on the federal so now I am in the process of going through the steps yet again. Obviously, since I am posting this blog I am trying to find any excuse not to work on them...
Sick of being SICK
My poor kidos have been sick for what seems for an eternity for me. We took Landen-poo to the doctor yet again today. Good news - he is getting better...he has bronchitis which has flared his asthma. We go back AGAIN on Tuesday for another check up. Renny-Ren is still coughing, but over the croup (YEAH!), but now has bronchitis (NOT YEAH AT ALL!) So we've just been hanging out at home trying to get through the sickies. Of course, by these pictures you can't tell they are sick - you can't tell by their energy level either!
